Drummer, producer, publisher and writer Bernard “Pretty” Purdie talks briefly about his love of music and how he started at at three years old playing drums. He played in the orchestra and the big band at the age of 8-years old with his teacher. Purdie notes that he was forced to learn the trumpet, and although he was never good at it, it helped him to learn music.
In this “Funky Groovy Jam Session” Bernard “Pretty” Purdie shows off his renowned drumming skills in what he calls a “journey of some 16th notes.” He plays with a guitarist and they follow one another. The Maryland native is known as the world’s most recorded drummer and has played on over 3000 albums.

It marks a reunion for Purdie, who also played in the original Broadway production in 1968.
