The Neptunes’ Drum Kits…? :\
Well I’m sure most of you out there have seen the “Dr Dre”, “Timbaland”, “Kanye”, “Just Blaze”, etc, drum kits that some other websites sell out there. You know, the websites suckering brand new beat makers who don’t know any better into buying complete bulls#it sounds just off of name recognition…
Apparently there may (OR MAY NOT) be some real superstar producer drums floating around the net now…
According to Alicia Keys’ engineer Ann Mincieli, Chad Hugo of The Neptunes handed over some Alicia Keys Pro Tools sessions to Lupe. He in turn recorded a track to that session, which leaked to the net. As a revenge of sorts, Ms Mincieli posted up a bunch of Neptunes drums for everyone to download.
Edit: I just checked these sounds out… this is some kind of hoax or something… These are the same exact sounds that the said websites above are selling… Completely disregarding the quality of a good percentage of those sounds (which are amateur sound design at it’s most mediocre), why the hell would the Neptunes have folders with chopped up bits of instrumentation from their tracks? This really doesn’t make any sense at all. If Ms Mincieli really thought this folder was part of some Neptunes sound stash, she gets a major FAIL.
