New Rules: #1 Don’t Ask To Send Music… JUST SEND IT!

The Be A Better Producer Blog’s “New Rules” lays out some basic rules that everyone should follow.  Simple and easy…

Rule: #1  Don’t Ask to send music… JUST SEND IT!

newrulesIf you are going to e-mail someone and ask if you can send them some music, don’t ask…  JUST SEND THE MUSIC.  Responding back with an email can take just as long as listening to a few of your beats/songs/limericks/etc.   So save whoever you are asking the time & just include the music from the start.  If they don’t want to listen to your music, or it’s too late for a beat submission or whatever, they won’t do it anyway.  If you are worried about being seen as rude by attaching music in the first e-mail, just add this to the end of your e-mail.

“I’ve attached some of my music if you do have the time.  Thank you”

If anyone is offended by that, they would probably be even more offended by you asking for a response to send music before you send it.

Good advice. Asking before sending is pretty pointless.

I don’t think anyone is afraid of being seen as rude. However I for one are a part of that very large population of people who like to protect the data on their devices and don’t just click “open” on random email attachements. It’s a pretty good way to get your mails deleted and your adress blocked by the receipient.

Unless it is for a beat compo or something where the adress was setup to receive files for it.

I agree with the random dude that posted about protecting your data,,, Thats exactly what I would do!! I dont trust shit like that always!!

Thanks for this info.I used to do this back then and got some slack for it..No response..lol. Arigato
