Be A Better Producer Radio!! (sort of)

Thanks to the good people at Strempad, we have a new feature on The Be A Better Producer Blog.   There is now an audio player embedded at the bottom of your browser at all times.  Just click it to start it up.  I’ll be posting a lot of my favorite old school tracks and new & interesting music I come across in my digging adventures.  Please check it out and let me know what you think & stay tuned.

Photosounder Tutorial

or you out there that had some trouble getting the results you wanted with Photosounder, Michael over at Photosounder.com posted a new tutorial (Thanks to Culov for the assist).

“I. Turning a sound into image
- Cut the piece of sound you want to work on in your favourite audio editor and save it to a file
- Open that file with Photosounder
- Once the image is done loading up on the screen, press the Save button and select “Image file” in the drop-down menu

II. Synth removal
- Open that image file in Photoshop (or similar image editor like GIMP)
- Invert the colours for the sake of visibility (Ctrl+I)

Review: PMPWorldwide.com ARS (Ad Revenue Sharing) Program…

There has been some talk in the producer circles online about PMPWorldwide.com’s new feature.  PMP worldwide has recently implemented a brand new ARS (Ad Revenue Sharing) program for their members.   Essentially, in return for driving visitors to your pmp profile page, you get a quarterly paypal “check”.  Since there is no real explanation of how the system works on the site, I figured I’d show you all how it looks from the member side of things (Courtesy of PMP’s comprehensive stat tracking)…

The ARS system works in tiers.  If you reach a certain tier, you get a specific payment…

Sample Of The Month…A Sampling…

I’d like to make all of my readers out there aware of something I have been doing in conjunction with Dynamic Producer.  Basically it’s an email blog for sample heads.  I send it out to all the friends & family of Dynamic Producer.  It’s called Sample Of The Month.  Here is a sampling of this month’s sample of the month…

I don’t know why, but for some reason a lot of people have a misconception about gospel music.  Gospel through the late 60s/70s and even the early 80′s was every bit as soulful/funky/sampleable as it’s secular counterparts.  You just need to look a little harder to find it.  Also don’t forget that Gospel is where many of our favorite Soul singers got their starts (Aretha, Sam Cooke, OV Wright, Wilson Pickett, etc).  Here is a little selection of some soulful/funky gospel…
